Los inicios de Lucho Quequezana en la música fueron de manera casual, sus padres viajaron a Huancayo cuando tenía 11 años, para vivir un tiempo por el asma que aquejaba a su hermano.
En Huancayo el colegio era diferente que aquí en Lima, los niños tocaban instrumentos andinos, un amigo lo animo a tocar una zampoña y desde ahí comenzó su gusto por la música andina.
Luego en Lima fundó el grupo Kuntur - Wasi, junto a su hermano, grupo con el cual tuvo la oportunidad de experimentar diversos sonidos y melodías andinas. Comenzó a componer música a la edad de 15 años, especialmente con el charango, quena y zampoña. A través de los años, descubrió sus habilidades con otros instrumentos, entre ellos el piano que aprendió a tocar en una semana, en la actualidad domina 25 instrumentos musicales. Esta versatilidad con los instrumentos le animó a explorar diferentes tipos de música como el jazz, latín jazz, rock, new age, y la trova.
“Kuntur” es su primera producción musical con la que participo en la World Culture Open - Korea 2004 (Las Olimpiadas de las Culturas) en la que quedo como finalista.
En el año 2006 fue invitado a concursar por la residencia UNESCO Aschberg - Canadá 2006, resultando elegido entre varios músicos del mundo para realizar su obra. Como parte de esta beca Lucho viajo tres meses a Canadá para realizar talleres y convivencias musicales, con artistas de Turquía, China, Vietnam, Canadá, Venezuela y Colombia logrando fusionar los ritmos andinos, con ritmos de diversas partes del mundo, realizando así un intercambio cultural a través de la música.
Como resultado de esta experiencia tenemos el Show Sonidos Vivos Internacional, considerado por la crítica especializada como la mejor performance desde que se creo la residencia UNESCO - Aschberg, Obteniendo muy buena aceptación en los medios de prensa internacionales y nacionales.
Lucho Quequezana un artista multifacético comunicador social, multinstrumentalista, compositor, Jurado del Festival Latinoamericano de Cine, dirige comerciales de TV, realiza música para documentales, entre otras actividades.

1994: Lucho participa en el homenaje a Silvio Rodriguez llamado Silvio a la Carta, este homenaje se concretó a través de una temporada de recitales en los que el público elegía el repertorio de cada noche, de una lista o "menú" de canciones. El espectáculo tuvo tanta acogida, que incluso las noticias de este éxito llegaron a oídos del cantautor. Después de 10 años Silvio a la Carta continúa aun presentándose pero ya no cuenta con la participación de Lucho Quequezana.

Biography of Lucho Quequezana
Lucho Quequezana started in the music in a very casual way. His parents traveled to Huancayo when he was 11, in order to live there because his brother suffered form asthma.
The school in Huancayo was different than in Lima. The children played instruments from the place. A friend encouraged him to play zampona and since then, he developed his taste for music of the Andes.
Back in Lima, he and his brother founded the group Kuntur Wasi, which gave him the opportunity to experience different sounds and melodies from the Andes. He started composing music at the age of 15, especially with the charango, quena and zamponia. Throughout the years, he discovered his ability with some other instruments like the piano, which he learned how to play only in one week. Nowadays, he plays 25 instruments. His versatility with the instruments encouraged him to explore different types of music like jazz, latin jazz, rock, new age and trova.
Kuntur is the name of his first production and the one that took him to the finals in the World Culture Open – Korea 2004 (The Olympics of the Culture). In 2006, he was invited to participate in the residence UNESCO Aschberg – Canada 2006. He was chosen to perform his work among musicians from many parts of the world. As part of this scholarship, Lucho traveled to Canada for three months to perform his workshops and musical experiences with artists from Turkey, China, Vietnam, Canada, Venezuela and Colombia; all of them living in Canada. They tried to mix the rhythms from the Andes with rhythms from different parts of the world. They obtained a cultural exchange through the music.
The Show Sonidos Vivos Internacional is the result from this experience and it is considered for the critics as the best performance since the UNESCO – Aschberg residence was created and it had a great acceptation in the international and national press.
Lucho Quequezana, a mass communicator, multi instrumentalist, composer, Jury at the Cinema Festival in Latin America, directs TV publicity, composes music for documental, among other activities.

1994: Lucho was part of the tribute to the Cuban composer Silvio Rodriguez, named Silvio a la Carta. This tribute concluded through a season of presentations, where the audience chose the songs to be played from a list or menu. The tribute was so successful that the artist heard about it. Afterwards, Lucho left the group. After 10 years the group is still performing.
